Dolores, who was little more than 40 rears of age, had been a prominent figure in more thau ono unhappy romance, and sho had experienced the luxury of wealth aud the misery of extreme poverty. Early in 1929 slue was brought prominently to the notice of the public in connection with the tragic death of Frederick Atkinson, a 2i.'>-year-okl artist, who committed suicidu at a studio in London. Ho had, it appeared, become infatuated with her. It was always strenuously denied by Doloros that sho had in any way been the cause qf the young man's death, l ater in the year widespread indignation was aroused in theatrical circles bv the announcement that Dolores had accepted a part in a murder mystery play. An earlier appearance on tho stagcj, in " The Little Revue " at tho Adelphi in 3,924, terminated abruptly after a few nights. Dolores wan then appearing in a sketch in which she posed as Venus. In 1930 it was announced that Dolores was 7 to be married to Mr. Philip Yale Drew, an actor, who was one of tho witnesses at .an inquest held in connection with the murder of a shopkeeper in Reading. Tho marriage did not take place. One of the last public engagements of Dolores, who at the height of her fame had created a sensation in London's artistic circles, was to sit in a barrel as an exhibit at a fun-fair in Tottenham Cpurfc Road. Dolores real name was Norinc: Lattimore, and she had been married three times. In 1926, when she was married to Mr. George William Lattimore, an American theatrical and film producer, she was described as tho daughter of a doctor and the divorced wife of Richard Harry Farwell Peckover Sadler. Later sho went to England as a dancer. Of mixed Spanish and French extraction, Dolores was born in Barcelona, Spain, and educated at a French convent. She began her career on the stagei in Paris, and danced as a member of the Imperial Russian Ballet at the Opera Cpmique When Epstein asked Dolores to poso for him she agreed, and in tbe years that followed Dolores sat for hitn regularly, and, through his work, won world-wide fame as a model.
