ATTRACTIVE ROGUES

A " thriller " on original lines is " A Career for the Gentlemen," by David Farrer. In it the author shows the effect of a term of imprisonment on a young man of good family who is convicted for manslaughter when driving a car. While the author does not attempt to make his criminals into heroes, yet some of them are attractive rogues with ideals of their own, and , there is considerable honour among them. The story is human, touching, and, at times, very exciting. " A Career for the Gentlemen," by David Farrer. (Chatto and Windus.)
