WOMEN'S DIVISION

Reports of branches of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union are as follows:—•

Riverhead.—Miss Fountain gave an address on the women of India. The roll nail was "What would you do if visitors came to afternoon tea and you were nob prepared?" Good business was done at the exchange table. A fancv-drcss ball organised by the branch proved most successful. Auckland.—Members wore most interested in an address given by Mrs. B. Cassidy on "The Woman in Marriage." Reports of visits paid to country members in the hospital were given by Mrs. Hoey and Miss Aubin. Mrs. J. G. F. Mitchell presided. Brigham's Creek.—The prize for the best vase of flowers was won by Mrs. Baldwin, also for the best article made from a sugarbag. A farewell afternoon was tendered to Mrs. Gillanders, • the retiring secretary. A presentation was made by Mrs. R. M. Proude, branch president. Brookby.—A competition, " Something Now from Something Old," was won by Mrs. Kimpton, and a florarconipetion by Mrs. Whitford, 1, and Miss B. Cornelius, 2. The president gave hints for making blackberry # wine. Drury.—-Aj& the conclusion of the business meeting a musical programme was presented. The president, Mrs. Draper, wolcoined members and friends from othor branches. The hostesses were Mesdames Walker, Dreardon a*nd Clark.

Kaukapakapa.—An excellent report of tho Waitemata Provincial Council meeting was given by the president, Mrs. Osbaldiston. Several members visited Clovodon on the occasion of the branch At Home. A " husbands evening " has been arranged for a future date. The prize for a potato-peeling competition was won by Mrs. Ranum. Mrs. James and Mrs. Sussex were hostesses.
