GIRL GUIDES
A meeting of the combined Girl Gnide committees was held this week when divisional commissioner, Miss Beryl Knight, presided. There were about 80 committee representatives present. Mrs. Teape, commissioner for Mnnukau, gave a report on the work in her district. Mrs. McCombs, badge convener for Manukau, reported on badge work and accounts of work were also received from Devonport, North Shore, Takapuna and Mrs. P. McGregor, a member of the provincial executive, spoke on the good work of and the assistance given by the St. John Ambulance, both to the general public and to the Girl Guides. It was further stated that on the St. John Ambulance collection day the Guides would take charge of a stall outside John Court's, Limited. It was decided to hold a "shop" week early in October for the purpose of raising funds.
