CONSERVATIVE PARTY

THE PENDING CONFERENCE MOTIONS ON AGENDA British Wireless RUGBY, Sept. 20 Political activity in Britain is being renewed after the autumn holidays. The Conservative Party's conference is to be opened at Bristol on October 4. The official agenda, which has been issued, is of special interest because the party is numerically the most powerful in the existing system of co-operation between the political parties supporting the (government. First place on the agenda is given to a motion expressing unequivocal confidence in the National Government. Another motion, which is likely to arouse discussion, invites the party to condemn certain propositions of the draft policy on Indian reform upon which the report of the joint select committee of Parliament is still pending. It is recalled, however, by the Times, that the Conservative Party recently decisively refused to do this.
