NEWS OF WORLD TOURNEY ADDITIONAL RESULTS (Received September 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 19 In. the second round of the News of the World professional golf tournament Burton defeated Hobson, 1 up; Oke defeated Lacey, 5 and 4; C. Whitcombe defeated Beck, 6 and 5; Easterbrook defeated Kenyon, 2 and 1; Davies defeated Mitchell at the twenty-second; It. Whitcombe defeated Faulkner, 3 and 2; Havers defeated Weston at the twenty-first; Martin, who had beaten the title-holder, Alliss, in the first round, defeated Green, 1 up; liobson defeated Bradbeer, 3 and 2; Smith defeated Taggart, 1 up; Busson defeated Jarman, 3 and 1; Chevalier defeated Seager, 5 and 4; Pierpont defeated Seymour, 3 and 1.
In the third round C. Whitcombe defeated Buckle, 1 up; Havers defeated Easterbrook, 3 and 2; R. Whitcombe defeated Burton, 3 and 1; Busson defeated Oke, 3 and 2; Cox defeated Martin, 4 and 3; Davies defeated Robson, 5 and 4; Chevalier defeated Smith at the nineteenth; Pierpont defeated Moffat, 5 and 4. The last eight include only one previous holder, namely, Charles Whitcombe. Cox, Chevalier and Pierpont are assistant professionals.
