MAIN HIGHWAY WORKS

ROADS NEAR WARKWORTH [from OUR OWN' correspoxiiknt] WARKWORTH. Tuesday The Public Works Department has commenced excavating a large cutting near Grimmers Bridge, two miles north of Warkworth, on the main highway. The cutting is part of a short deviation, which will straighten the main road and will eliminate a dangerous corner, the scene of several accidents. Work is being continued on Gruts* deviation on the hill at the north end of Orewa Beach. The deviation will traverse the seaward side of the hill and will cut out several sharp bends.
