SPORT ON SUNDAYS

A GOVERNOR'S ADVOCATION "If it is a sin to play games on Sunday I am a sinner, and I see others on this platform," said the Governor of Queensland, Sir Leslie Wilson, speaking at a public welcome to the new Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane, Dr. J. W. C. Waud, earlier this month. Interviewed on his way to Brisbane, Dr. Waud had said that he approved Sunday sport, subject to a person's attendance at church service. "I see no harm in playing a game of golf or anything else on Sunday. I have done it all my life, and I intend to keep on doing so. Sunday is the only chance I have of getting exercise, and exercise is necessary to enable one to work," added the Governor. Sir Leslie plays golf, tennis and cricket, and Dr. Waud plays tennis. Tlio last-named has also played Soccer.
