REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY * TARANAKI AND AUCKLAND An attractive programme is sot down for Eden Park this afternoon when the principal feature will be annual Rugby match between Taranaki and Auckland. A fast and bright game is anticipated. After its success in winning the Banfurly Shield from Hawke's Bay last Saturday Auckland will be anxious to maintain its winning record, but is likely to meet with strong opposition from Taranaki, which is said to be a well-balanced side. REUNION AT RANGIRIRI MEMBERS OF 1904 TEAM [from our own correspondent] RANGIRIRI, Friday A reunion of 20 of the possible 2-1 or 25 original playing members of the Rangiriri District Football Club took place at the Waikare Rugby Union's Ball at Rangiriri last night. The Rangiriri Club was formed in 1904, the players being drawn from the area now covered by the Waikare Union. Three of the original members are dead: thus there were only one or two absentees. The old Rangiriri team played under the lower Waikato Rugby Union between 1904 and 1907 in competition with the Huntly. Taupiri, Ngaruawahia and Waipa clubs. The first president of the club. Mr. E. T. Bain, who was now president of the Waikare Union, called on the old players to come forward to the stage, and he asked the gathering to stand in silence in respect to the three old team members who were absent through death. LEAGUE AT CARLAW PARK AUCKLAND TO PLAY SOUTH A fast and open contest is expected at Carlaw Park this afternoon when Auckland will play South Auckland in the annual Rugby League fixture Auckland will field a strong all-round team, and although Prentice is not available McLaughlin should fill the centre position with credit, particularly outside Cooke. South Auckland l\as been in special training for the match and should do well in the forwards. Interest in the rearguard mil centre in W. Tittleton, centre, who played an outstanding game for the North in the inter-island fixture.
