DILLINGER'S INSOLENCE
LETTER TO HENRY FORD THANKS FOR " EXCELLENT CAR " (Received August 19, 6.35 p.m.) DETROIT. August 18 Another example of the supreme insolence and audacity of John Dillinger, who was killed in Chicago recently when resisting arrest, was revealed with the publication of a letter from the desperado posted to Mr. Henry Ford shortly before his death. Dillinger complimented Mr. Ford on the excellent motor-car that he produced. "I want to thank you for making such an excellent car," he wrote. The Ford officials at first thought that "the letter was a joke, but its authenticity was affirmed.
