ALSATIAN DOGS
DEFENDED BY FARMER'S [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] GISBORNE. Saturday Purebred Alsatian dogs were warmly defended bv several members of the Poverty Bay provincial executive of the Farmers' Union to-day, when this controversial topic was introduced. Several instances of damage among stock caused by other breeds of dogs were quoted. One member, in referring to the value of Alsatian dogs, remarked that if he had owned one some time ago he would have been saved the loss by theft" of £4O worth of tools. x
