OCEAN BEACH FRONTAGE [from orn own correspondent] TAURANGA, Saturday At a meeting of the Mount Maunganui Town Board the general rate was fixed at 2d in the pound on the unimproved value. The clerk was authorised to make 'lO transfers on the valuation roll and to increase the capital value of 17 properties. Good progress is being made with road formation along the ocean beach frontage at the Mount, and it is hoped to have a tourist drivo of nearly a mile in length before the summer. Many new cottages have been erected recently at Mount Maunganui.
