HARRIER RACING
CONTESTS ON SATURDAY TECHNICAL OLD BOYS' CLUB The Technical Old Boys' Harrier Club held a run over eight miles in the Mount Albert district on Saturday. The runners were divided into three packs. Following were tho results of the run-in:— Slow Pack.—W. F. Heath, I; M. J. McGrath. 2; H. R. Brown, 3; S. Spencer, 4; B. Thomas, 5. ' Intermediate Pack.—P. R. Shine, 1; J. Hunt, 2; R. S. Brown, 3; F. H. Laird, 4; W. S. Bainbridge, 5 Fast Pack.—B. Parsons, 1; D. Ohms. 2; R. F. Whitten, 3; G. Cates, 4; R. A. Gibbs, 5. WESLEY CLUB'S EVENT The Wesley Harrier Club held a strenuous run on Saturday over what was ap- • proximately tho Auckland championship course. Three packs competed and very promising form was shown. Results were as follows: Slow Pack.—A. Eowe. Is F. L. Harris, 2s L. Scriven, 3. Intermediate Pack.—G. Spooner, 1; B. Verry, 2: A. Maginness, 3. Fast Pack.—S. Colo and A. Ihrift, deadheat, 1; M. C Green, 2; A. Graham, 3. UNIVERSITY CLUB A run over a distance of seven and a-half miles was held on Saturday by the University Harrier Club. Ihree packs competed over a course which took in both road and country. Kay and Thomson in the fast pack ran very well, while good form was also shown by Graham, Collins, Maxwell and H. McElroy. ■ The' following team has been chosen for the inter-universities' events to be held at Wellington:—H. T. Jellie (captain), A. D. Thomson, R. Kay, L, Collins. PRESBYTERIAN CLUB , A distance of nine miles was covered by members of the Presbyterian Bible Class Harrier Club on Saturday. Results were as follows: — Fast Pack.—Neil. 1; Crawford, 2; Boss, 3. Intermediate Pack.—Young and Wilderspin. dead-heat, 1; Gladding and Plummer, ■dead-heat, 3. - Slow Pack.—Buchanan, 1; Taft, 2; Easton, 3.
HAMILTON CHAMPIONSHIP [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday The Hamilton Harrier Club conducted a championship run yesterday over a five miles course. There was a large field, and the results were:—L. Skeet, 1; Ready and Gardiner, dead-heat, 2; Henshill, 4. Skeet's time was 31m 545. The field handicap race was won by Gardiner, with Skeet and Henshill second and third. SCHOOL STEEPLECHASE [from our own correspondent] TAURANGA, Sunday The Tauranga District High School's annual steopiechaso for junior boys was held yesterday, the course being, over a larj/c portion of the borough. There was a good entry. Keith Watt was the winner, with W. Barugh second and T. Williams third. The senior steeplechase will be held after the term holidays.. CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIP [by telegraph—press association] CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday The 10.000 metres cross-country championship was won for the second time by A. 13. Park easily in 38m 465. C. H. Wa'son was second, and W. G, Taylor (Timaru), third.
