ANNUAL BALL HELD MANY DANCERS ATTEND Tho appearance of a number of lifebuoys and signalling flags in the Peter Pan Cabaret last evening lent quite a nautical air to the surroundings on the occasion of the annual ball of tho Auckland Harbour Board. On arrival tho dancers were received by the chairman of the social committee, Mr. A. Trev&rthen, and Mrs. Trevarthen, the latter wearing a frock of silver groy marocain with bands of scquinned trimming. Oldtimo dances, such as the Maxina, the mazurka and the schottische, were enjoyed, as well as modern ballroom dances. Demonstrations of present-day ballroom dances were given by Miss Natalie Stratton and Mr. M. Stratton, and Miss Margaret O'Connor and Mr. Leitch. The cliaperones included: —:Mrs. T. B. Clay, Mrs. D. Holderness, Mrs. W. B. Smith, Mrs. H. H. Sergeant, Mrs. W.. R. Golden, Mrs. R. C. Holmes, Mrs. S. Edwards, Mrs. E. W. Batey, Miss F. Robinson. Among those present were: —Mrs. T. B. Clay, who wore a frock of black georgette with jet trimming and black beaded coateo; Mrs. R. C. Holmes, midnight blue satin beaute; Mrs. A. Rose, black lace; Mrs. E. Turpin, apricot taffeta; Mrs. G. Whiting, black crepe satin and silver sequins; Mrs. R. Duano, white flat crepe; Mrs. N. Trevarthen, apple green taffeta and mauve organdie; Mrs. C. Anderson, black Chantilly lace; Mrs. E. Armishaw, green satin; Mrs. C. Mollison (Wellington), geranium red lace with georgette; Mrs. Gordon Peace, black lace; Mrs. A. Fletcher, emerald green crinkled crepe with crystal trimming; Mrs. H. Bennett, mulberry crepe suede and fawn relief; Mrs. H. Vialoux, cameo pink open-worked organdie; Mrs. J. Robb, jun., black angelskin crepe; Mrs. T. G. Morrison, India red lace; Mrs. G. Duane, coral pink craquelle crepo; Mrs. F Sceats, black and pink floral georgette; Mrs. C. Ward, parma violet marocain; Mrs. C. H. Taylor, black marocain; Miss N. Grayson, black satin and gold lame; Miss M. Sheffield,
