THEFT FROM LAUNCH

MAN TO BE SENTENCED A plea of guilty was entered by a labourer, James McMillan Banks, aged 20, who was charged before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, with stealing £3, the property of L. H. Griffin. Sub-Inspector Scott said that accused was seen to go on board Mr. Griffin's launch, and it was subsequently found that £3 was missing. Accused, who had admitted the offence when questioned by Constable I/anna, came to New Zealand from England some four years ago under the I'lock House scheme.

Accused was remanded for sentence until Monday.
