The following Institutes of I lie Auckland Federation hold their monthly meetings recently:Greenhitho.— A lecture on astrology was given by Mrs. G. A large parcel of woollen clothing was sent to the Whangarei Relief Committee for distribution to the poor and needy. Ivopuarahi.—A short was given on gardening by Mrs. Gordon, and a demonstration by Miss White on rose pruning. A memory contest was won by Mrs. H. Bower. Mangapai.—An open meeting was held and tho president, Mrs. Hayward, welcomed visitors and members. The roll "call was, Tho many uses of kerosene. Mrs. J. S. Mackay gave a demonstration of spinning. Maromaku. —A written competition arranged by Mrs. Webb was won by Mrs. Baydon. Tho roll call was for thrift articles and was we'll supported. Tho article made from waste material was won by Mrs. G. Boss.
