CATTLE FROM GISBORNE FACILITIES" OF THE PORT[from our own correspondent] TAURAiS'GA, Tuesday The question of substituting electricity for gas in connection with the lights at the North Rock and Stony Point was discussed by the Tauranga Harbour Board at its bi-monthly meeting. l'he matter was referred to the Finance Committee. It was stated that inquiries had been received regarding the possibility of landing {at cattle at Tauranga from Gisborne. The board inspected the sheep loading race and yards which had been provided at the railway wharf at Tauranga for the unloading of sheep by boats from Poverty Bay ports and loading thr-m into railway trucks for the Waikato, which would obviate the necessity, as previously, of driving the sheep to tile Te Paua railway station, six miles from Tauranga. The district public trustee, Te Aroha, wroto acknowledging the receipt of certified copies of the resolution creating a consolidated sinking fund in respect to the conversion loan and also advised that the public trustee had accepted *he position of sinking fund commissioner.
