Those present included the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan. In referring to subsidies for herd testing, the Minister said the matter had received attention in tho Estimates. Parliament recognised the importance of agricultural needs. The Economy Commission had recommended the gradual elimination of farmers' subsidies, but he did not agreo with that.
