THE ALSATIAN DOG
Sir, —1 have been asked several times to give nn experience I had with an Alsatian clog. Some five years ago 1 had occasion to go down to the sawmill, at Port Craig and while there 1 stayed with the manager, Mr. Peter Daly. They owned one. of these dogs and made a real pet of it. One evening, after tea, this dog would not go to anyone but myself, and Mr. Daly continually told the dojj; to go to its corner. The dog would do so for a lew minutes, then it. would return to mo. 1 thought at the time what a lovely pet it was until it flew at me and bit me over the eye. One of its teeth, fortunately, hit me on the bone under the right eyebrow. Had he caught me on the cheek it would possibly have torn the cheek off me. When 1 was bitten the blow 1 got was like a blow from a hammer and the blood streamed down my face, and everyone got a great fright; so did 1. My eye and face were badly swollen for a week. 1 admire the Hon. C. .J. Carrington for bringing this matter before the House, and only trust that the bill goes far enough to have these anifnals exterminated. Woolsey Ali.en.
