PRIZE IN LOTTERY
LUCKY AUCKLANDERS A PICNIC SYNDICATE Advice was received in Auckland yesterday that New Zealand subscribers won the * third--and eighth prizes in a consultation drawn at Hobart, Tasmania, yesterday under Government supervision.
The winner of the third prize of £250 was ticket number 34012, "Stearine." care of W.M. and Company, Cumberland Street, Dunedin. The eighth prize, also of £250, was won by ticket number 35538, owned by Mr. James Reid, a well-known boatbuilder of Northcote, under the nom de plume of "Straight Whisky." informed of his good fortune, Mr. Reid said he was a regular subscriber to similar consultations. This ticket had been bought by a syndicate of six when on a picnic at one of the beaches of the North Shore.
ART UNION AT BRISBANE NEW ZEALAND PRIZES [B\ TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION"I WELLINGTON, Friday Advice has been received that the eleventh prize of £SOO in the Grand Centenary Golden Casket Art Union in Brisbane has been won by "H.H.8.,' Blenheim, and the seventeenth prize of £250 by "J.N.W.," Arapuni.
