NORTH KAIPARA'S YEAR GOOD POSITION DISCLOSED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] PAPAROA, Thursday The North Kaipara Agricultural Society's annual meeting was held last night. The president, Mr. H. S. McCarroll, presided. It was reported that in addition to the autumn show a successful ilower show held in the spring in conjunction with the Women's Institutes assisted continuity of interest throughout the year. Members' subscriptions totalled £55. Gate proceeds at the 1934 show totalled £sl, and a concert realised £33. The committee had been successful also in securing £250 as a share in one of the art unions, which had completely extinguished the liability at the bank, and arrangements had been made for the erection of a cattle pavilion to cost £l5O. The year 1936 would mark the diamond jubilee of the society, and the secretary, Mr. T. C. Aickin, was collecting data to compile a history sinco its inception. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. H. S. McCarroll; vicepresidents, Messrs. E. R. Jenkins and W. Collins; secretary, Mr. T. C. Aickin; treasurer, Mrs. J. J. Sutherland; and a strong working committee, including a ladies' committee.
