ORPHANS' CLUB

LADIES' NIGHT HELD An enjoyable function was held' in the Foresters' Theatre, Onchunga, last evening on the occasion of the annual ladies' night of the Onehunga Orphans' Club. The president, Mr. L. Bray, presided over a large attendance and welcomed the representatives of the following kindred clubs: —Auckland Orphans' Club, Auckland Savage Club, Papakura, Tamaki and Te Aroha Orphans' Clubs. An excellent programme of orchestral, vocal and elocutionary items was provided by the following:—Orchestral selections by the Onehunga Orphans' Orchestra, conducted by Mr. Henry Engel, solos by Mrs. McLennan, Mr. Desmond Casey and Mr. George Barnes, flute solos by Mr. Hal. McLennan and humorous items by Mr. Rex Yates. At the conclusion of the musical programme the floor was cleared for dancing.
