POLICE SEARCH PREMISES resourceful orchestra appropriate numbers played r„y TEI.EG RA P H —OWN' CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON, Sunday Greeted by tl\e strains of "Here Wc Are Again," played by the orchestra, eight uniformed constables ant a senior sergeant of police entered the Crows Nest Dance Clubs premises. Island Bay, last evening, and, armed with a search warrant, they conducted a diligent search for liquor, extending even to a fowlhouse, for about an hour. The dance hall was filled with club members and their friends, but the entry of the police caused little consternation, a rather tense atmosphere being relieved by the resourcefulness of the orchestra, which played "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf," while the officers conducted their search. The police took the names of every person present with a view, it is understood, of checking them with the names appearing on the club membership register, but no attempt was made to see if any bottles were secreted in the pockets of anyone present. Immediately the police arrived some of the constables were stationed in the grounds surrounding the club, apparently to see that no one made his escape while the search was ifi progress inside. The search extended to the bedrooms, the cellar, and even the fowlhouse and grounds.
