ALLEGED ASSAULT
1 TAXI-DRIVER CHARGED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL SYDNEY, July 21 A taxi-driver, Edward Albert Charles Collings, aged 35, was committed for trial yesterday on a charge of assaulting Alfred Edwards and robbing him of a small sum of money and a tram pass. Edwards, an employee at the Randwick' Military Hospital, after spending the afternoon in the city on July B', met two men who offered to drive him home. The car sped in the opposite direction, however. Edwards was battered until he was unconscious and he was then hurled into the scrub. He was admitted to a hospital later with head and face wounds and a fractured jaw. He was robbed of the few shillings he had with him.
