IMPROVED DEMAND TONE OF MARKET STEADY LONDON. July 4 At the London wool sales to-day 11,965 bales were offered, including 2994 from New Zealand, and about 4228 were sold. There was a rather better demand tiao oa the first day. The tone of the' market was steady and opening prices were maintained. Representatives of homo firms were the chief purchasers. July 5 The Woolselling Brokers' Association announces that the Brisbane wool sales, which were to have commenced on July 16, have been abandoned. No reasons are given, _ but it has been ascertained that this action is considered to be in the best interests of the trade.
