HARBOUR BOARD'S CONCERN [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WHANGAREI, Thursday A deputation from the Whangarei Harbour Board this morning waited upon the Transport Co-ordination Board, comprising Sir Stephen Allen (chairman), and Messrs. L. Alderton and H. B. S. Johnstone, with reference to the action of the Railway Department in operating the "truck" system from Auckland to Whangarei. The Harbour Board contended, in common with the shipping interests, that the cheap freights thus charged are seriously affecting the shipping companies and the harbour boards of the DominionThe Harbour Board deputation discussed the position this\ morning _ with the Co-ordination Board in committee, after which the party inspected the harbour facilities.
