AUCKLAND TRAVEL CLUB
RECENT PROGRESS REVIEWED The quarterly meeting of the executive committee of the Auckland Travel Club was held on Wednesday, Mr. J. A. C. Allum presiding in the absence of the president, Mrs. Victor Macky. It was reported that tlic club had a membership of 289 and that there was a substantial credit balance in the bank. The Friday morning teas held weekly by the ladies' committee, to entertain visitors to the city had proved a great success, the attendance averaging about 100 members and guests. The monthly luncheons also had been well patronised. Through the agency of the club, it was stated, the appointment of a special tourist officer at New Zealand House, London, had been brought about. Tho various tourist and travel interests in the Pacific, from Hong Kong to Vancouver, had been-co-opera-ting with the club in the introduction of visitors, and many letters from all parts of the world had beer received in appreciation of the entertainment and assistance accorded visitors to the Dominion.
