EX-PUBLIC SERVANTS

annual meeting held The annual meeting of the Auckland branch of tlio Superannuated Public Servants' Association, which was held yesterday afternoon, was attended by 200 members. Mr. M. Guthrie presided. The main object of discussion was tho proposed Superannuation Funds Bill, which it was expected would receive the attention of Parliament this session. The feeling of the meeting was that as members had fulfilled their part of the contract by their contributions, it was for tho Government to do its share and place the fund on a sound basis. Tho question will bo discussed at tho annual meeting of the association in Wellington on August 7, at which Messrs. Guthrie and J. Caughley will represent the Auckland branch. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. M. Guthrie; vice-presi-dent, Mr. J. Caughley; secretary and treasurer, Mr. \V. McNickle; committee, Messrs. J. W. Smith, F. Fieldsend and G. Jenks. Mr. C. Bishoprick was rc-clcctcd auditor.
