NEW ZEALAND MEMBER / " DR. A. E. PORRITT ELECTED LONDON, May 18 Dr. A. E. Porritt (New Zealand) has been elected a member of the International Olympic Committee. J)r. A. E. Porritt recently was invited to act as manager of the New Zealand team for the British Empire Games. He is a former Dominion champion sprinter, having won tho 100yards title 11 years ago. Ho represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924. He was at Otago University at the time and later went to Oxford, where lie raced prominently for two or three seasons.
