RIFLE SHOOTING
KATIKATI DEFENCE CLUB Members of the Katikati Defence Rifle Club fired the final series of matches for the season under tricky conditions. A shoot at 200 yds resulted as follows:—W. H. Poole, G9; G. B. Walford. GS; E. J. Walford, G7; It. M. Poole, 66; G. T. Walford. G5; G. Lecky, (53; J. Thomas, 02* F Kendall? 67; It. McCoimoll, 53. The Walford Championship Cup was won by G. B t i Walford, 196 points, for the socond year in succession,, from W. H. Poole, 192. The president's service championship cup ended in a tie and in the shoot-off at 300 yds F. Kendall beat. It. M. Poole on the sixth shot. Mrs. Poole's trophy for tho best 10 shots during the season at any range was shot-.off between R. M. Poole, 48, and G. B. Walford, 48, tl)e latter dropping a point on tho fourth shot. The consolation trophy presented by G. E. Faulkner was won by E. J. Walford. Tho club's trophy for tho highest score on the final day was won by W. H. Poole, The trophy presented by G: B. Walford for the highest score by a new member this year was won by G. T. Walford.
