NOTES ON THE RACING VICTORY FOR ALL WORTHY TE KAHU PERFORMS SOLIDLY RINGTRUE SCORES AGAIN

BY ARCHER

The backmarker, All Worthy, was responsible for a solid performance in winning the Introductory Handicap, for which Bismuth and Star Pronto were tho favourites. All Worthy was fourth fancy on both machines.

Star Pronto settled Lis chance by breakins: up badly early and Flcrrie Real led for tho first couple of furlongs from Bisr.uith, Kewpie's Bond and El Thorpe. Kcwpie s Bond then assumed command and led along the back from El Thorpe and Florrie Real, with All Worthy moving up ahead of Bismuth and Nelson Luvan. Kewpie's Bond was first into tlra straight closely attended by All Worthy, with Nelson Luvan handy on the rails ahead of Florrie Real and Bismuth. AH Worthy finished strongly to score by two lengths from Nelson Luvan, who defeated Kewpie's Bond by a head. Bismuth was another head away fourth, followed by Florrio Real, El Thorpe, Transworthy and Arion Axworthy. All Worthy began well and was too solid for the others nt the finish. Nelson Luvan and Kewpie's Bond both made good showings and Bismuth finished impressively into fourth position. Bismuth looks an improved hoise and his turn should not Ijo far away. An End-to-end Victory

Ihe three-year-old Te Kahu, who was a better favourite than Ohinemutu. scored an end-to-eud victory in the Leamington Handicap. Nelson Chief, Audo Patch, Ohinemutu and Waskasu all broke at the start and l'e Kahu was soon several lengths clear to lead past tha stands from Rose Marble and Waskasu, wlio was going very unsteadily. Rose Maj'ble went up to the leader at the seven-lurlongs post, but Te J\ahu soon drew away and at the half-miio he was out four lensths from Rose Mjirbic, CoLeen -Murphy and Waskasu with Audo 1 atch moving up. Te Kahu continued to trot 6ohdly and went on to win by two lengths from Rose Marble, who defeated \vaskasu by a similar margin. Audo Patch was a close fourth, followed by Colleen Murphy. Te Kahu is a half-brother to the good pacer Pegaway. He lias started only twice and has registered a Becond and a win. for a beginner he goes very solidly and looks like being very useful. Te Kahu was very confidently driven by J. T. Paul. Pose Marble trotted her best race to date, bujt \\ asKasu went very unsteadily, making more than one mistake, although she did not I° se an y ground when she did break. Audo 1 a tell and Ohinemutu spoilt their chances by bad breaks early and the former would have been closer if he had begun corroctly. Colleen Murphy trotted Bolidly until she broke badly near tho homo turn.' The Cup Contest

'lhe favourite. Weo Machine, scored a convincing v.in in .the Cambridge Trotting Cup. Jackie Thorpe was slow to begin and Linella led out from Manco. With about live furlongs covered Wee Machine assumed the lead and showed the way past tho stands to Linella, Manco and Gumdigger, who were in close order six lengths ahead °f Explosion. Wee Machine, Linella and Gumdigger were.in :a bunch along the back just ahead of Manco, with the others well back. Wee Machine drow out slightly at the top and led into the straight from Manco, who was clear of Gumdigger and Linella. Weo Machine went right away at the finish to win by eight lengths from Manco. who skipped in the run home. Gumdigger was three lengths away third and Linella was two lengths back fourth, with Explosion, Jackie Thorpe and Rangihau well back. Weo Machine handled the heavy going well and won very decisively. He was handed over to F. J. Smith only last Monday and thus added to that trainer's remarkable lecord of success with horses racing in his hands for the first time. Manco appeared likely to be dangerous at tho turn, but he had no chance with tho winner in tho straight, where ho tired and was inclined to mix his eTnit. Gumdigger and Linella tired in the last few furlongs and the others were badly beaten, never appearing ',O have chances.

On the strength of his victory at Epsom last week the three-year-old Kewpie's King was made favourite 011 the win machine for the Hautapu Handicap and he justified tha confidence of his aupporters by winning nicely. On the other hand, the place favourite Bismuth ran unplaced. Student Prince, an outsider, attempted to win all ll..;- way and he was in command half-a-niile fruin home from Tryment, Kewpie's King. Play Lady and Shining Metal. Student Prince was still in charge half-way down the straight, but Kewpie's King finished well to beat him by half-a-length. Tryment was three lengths away third and Bismuth was fourth, followed by Play Lady, Star Pronto and Shining Metal.

An Improving Pacer Kewpie's King has notched a second and two wins in his last three 6tarls and ia an improving pacer who will reach better company. Kewpie's King lost some ground when he broke at the crossing near the mile post, but he paced very smoothly afterwards. Bismuth was very slow early and dropped right back after breaking at the crossing near the inilo post, where Star Pronto also tangled. Bismuth finished very impressively and ho can bo confidently expected to do botter. Five 6tarted in the Bardowie Handicap and Kuini was an each-way favourite, only to be defeated by Indolent, who was tho outsider of tho field on tho win machine. ,Wiriwhata failed to leave the mark correctly and interfered with. Kuini, who had gone away well from tho line behind him. Autumn Lu and Indolent began smartly and at tho stands they were 10 lengths clear of Kuini. Indolent then went up on th& inside of Autumn Lu and led her by a couplo of lengths at the back, where Kuini moved up handy. Autumn Lu broke at the home turn and Indolent was first into the straight with .Kuini in hot pursuit about three lengths away. Indolent stayed on 6olidly in tho run homo and prevailed by a length from Kuini, who defeated Autumn Lu by three lengths. Bingen Patch was six lengths away fourth and Wiriwhata wa3 tailed off.

A protest lodged by F. J. Smith, driver of Kuini, against Indolent for galloping was dismissed. Indolent broke once in the early stages, but afterwards trotted solidly, goinir more steadily than usual. Kuini was unlucky and would probably have won only for getting stopped by Wiriwhata at tho start, whero she must have lo3t 40 or 50 yards. Linella Wins Narrowly

In spite of his penalty of 24 yards, Weo Machine was made favourite for the President's Handicap, but just when ho appeared likely to win lie tangled badly in tho straight and miss a place. Linella began smartly and led early from Jackie Thorpe, Manco, Gumdigger and Wee Machine Linella wan out four lengths from Jackie Thorpe goinp; along the back, with Mnnco and Wee Machine next. Linella, Jackie Thorpe and Wee Machine were in close company at tho turn. Jackio Thorpe and Weo Machine then, forging ahead. Weo Machine broke at the distance and Jackie Thorpe appeared certain to wi'.i. However, Linella came again on tho rails and got up to beat him by balf-a-head. Gumdigger was three lengths; away third and Manco was fourth,, followed by Wee Macliino and Smooger. Linella appeared to be beaten when Jackie Thorpe and Weo Machine headed her at the turn, but she came again at tho end and got through on the rails to beat Jackie. Thorpe in tho last couplj of strides. Wee Machine would probably have won only foxbreaking near tho end. Smooger was never dangerous, failing to show anything like his true form.

Favourite Successful I The three-year-old Ringtrue was a strong favourite for the Brunlwood Handicap and he rcolised expectation by winning very decisively. Home Brew broke at tho start and Ringtruo was the early leader from Ariel 8011, Homo Brew, Bonnie Direct and Tryment. Ringtrue and Ariel Bell wore together in the lead along the back from Home Brew, Tryment aiijl Lady Amanda. Ringtruo drew out slightly nearing the home turn and was first into tho straight from Tryment, Ariel Bell, Bonnie Direct and Homo Brew. Nothing had a chanco with Ringtruo at tho finish and he went on to score by two lengths from Tryment. Bonnie Direct was six lengths away third, just beating Ariel Bell for that position in tho last few strides. Homo Brew was fifth and Gold Dredge sixth. . This was Ringtruos eccond win and no scored impressively. The half-brother to Great Bingen, Peter Bingen and Great Peter is making steady improvement and is furnishing into a nice horse. Like his relatives, he should do better as ho ages Trvment paced another solid laco and ArKsl Bell did well for a novice, failing only m the straight. Ringtrue was the. second winner of tho day sired by Travis Axworthy, who was also successfully represented in the first race by All Worthy,
