NEXT SATURDAY'S'EVENTS LIST OF THE HANDICAPS The following handicaps for the first day of tho Waikato Trotting Club's meeting, to be held at Hamilton next Saturday and Monday, have been declared by Mr. 0. E. Goosman:—

VISITING COMPETITORS! ATTEMPT ON MILE RECORD This is the first occasion 011 which a two days' trotting meeting has been held at Hamilton, the additional permit having been granted by the Trotting Conference when the Taranaki Trotting Club abandoned its fixture this season. There will be a good number of visiting horses, including tho majority of those who competed at Cambridge 011 Saturday. Visiting trainers who intend to go to Claudelnnds to-day are: —J. E. Smith, of Haw era, .with Smooger and Iron Man; B. J. Mackie, of Kaikoura, with Linelli; A. Brjfce, of Hornby, with Ohinemutu; A. H. Carmichael, of Wanganui, with Florrio Real; and L. O. Thomas, of Hutt Park, with All Worthy and Flintlock. C. S. Donald's trotter Harvest Dillon, who won a race at tho Northland Trotting Club's meeting, but was not produced at Cambridge, is already at Claudelonda in enre of J. Perkins, and Donald will arrive during the week, with Arabond. W. Hughes, of Feilding, who took Phyllis Axworthy over after the To Arolin meeting, has been at Claudelands for tho Inst two weeks with the mare and Worthy Princess, a novice trotter by Worthy Bingen from a Petereto mare.

The Epsom pacer Student Prince, who raced well on Saturday, has been left at Claudelands under the caro of A. Peters. .C. G. Lee is remaining at Cambridge until the week-end with Nelson Luvan, Audo Patch, Aerial Bell and Min Bells, and (T. A. Williams is also leaving Gumdigger at Cambridge with tho Epsom trainer, and A. Patten is staying there with Dainty Lady. Tho horses may go through to Claudelands on Friday. If track conditions are suitable on Saturday or Monday it is likely that the Hamil-ton-owned and trained Impromptu, winner of the Invitation match at the Northland meeting, will attempt to establish ti mile course record.

Campanula was rated the best of the two-year-old fillies in England last year and in the Free Handicap she was awarded. 9st., second to the topweighl, Colombo, 9.7. Light Brocade was considered the next 'best filly to Campanula, and the result of tho 0110 Thousand Guineas bears out this opinion.

TE AWAMUTU, Saturday The general committee of the Waipa Racing Club last evening drafted a programme for its extra race meeting 011 Saturday, Juno I£, with a total of £750 in stakes and a trophy valued at £2O, which will accompany the stake of £l2O for the Woodstock Stakes, li miles, the only open flat race on the programnio. Other races include an open steeplechase, a hack and hunters' steeplechase, a hack hurdle race, a maiden handicap, a hack handicap, and a handicap restricted to horses that have not won £250 in stakes at timo of entry. The following appointments wore made:— Handicnpper, Mr. F. J. McManemin; starter, Mr. R. H. Skipwith; judge, Mr. A. Tronson; timekeeper, Mr. F. H. Seccombe; clork of scales, Mr. S. C. Macky; clerk of course, Mr. J. Pollard. Information was received that the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club did not object to Waipa's meeting clashing with the Hawke's Bay meeting. Tho Racing Conference secretary advised that tho Minister of Internal Affairs has granted the usual rebate of li per cent on Government taxation respecting the annual race meeting last December, but the request for an additional li per cent robato could not be granted. The Auckland District Committee advised that it had recommended Saturday, December 15, for Waipa's next annual race meeting, and added that the application for a second totalisator permit for the 1931-35 season was noted, but at present it is not known whethor suck a pcrmitj would bo availablo.
