PROLONGED FLIGHT

z SOLICITORS RETURN AEROPLANE WEATHER-BOUND The Auckland Aero Club's Puss Moth aeroplane, in which two Auckland solicitors, Messrs. E. H. Nortlicroft and R. B. Lusk, left Dunedin for Auckland on Wednesday, arrived with its passengers at the Mangere aerodrome at noon yesterday, after being weather-bound for four days at New Plymouth. The machine, which was piloted by Flight-Lieutenant D. M. Allan, made the journey from New Plymouth in two and a-half hours. Messrs. Northcroft and Lusk, who are associated in the preparation of the defence of William Alfred Bayly, who is awaiting trial on May 21 on a charge of murdering Samuel Pender Lakey and Christobel Lakey, at Ruawaro, flew to Dunedin last Tuesday to confer with Mr. A. C. Hanlon, K.C., of Dunedin. It was recently announced that Mr. Hanlon would act as leading counsel for Bayly, but owing to health reasons he was compelled to relinquish the brief.
