Fourth round: Prenn beat Avory, 6—4, 6—3, 6—2. . Women's Singles.—Third round: Miss "Heeley beat Miss Hartigan (Australian champion), 6 —2, 6 —3. He perfectly timed his doublo-haud back-hand shots. Stedman's tossing was responsible for he and Peters taking tho third set from Crawford and McGrath in tho doubles.

Miss Hartigan failed to reproduce her Australian form.

In the tjuartor finals of tho singlef Perry will meet Miki, McGrath will meet Kirby, Quist will meet Prenn and Crawford will meet Boussus.
