CRICKET ASHES
LARWOOD BOWLS AGAIN JARDINE TO REPORT TESTS (Received April 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. April 39 Lanvood bowled- six overs at Trent Bridge to-day. He took six paces in his run instead of his usual 19- His action was perfectly easy. He wore special boots and his foot seemed to work quite naturally, with no sign of stiffness. Larwood says that if the ground had been harder he would have been tempted to go all out. Now he had had his first trial he would gradually increase his pace till it was normal. To-day's surprise cricket item is the news that D. 1?. Jardine, last year's captain of the English team, is to report the test matches for London newspapers.
AUSTRALIANS' JOURNEY
LINER NEARING ENGLAND LONDON. April 19 As the steamer Orford by which the Australian cricketers are travelling will not arrive at Southampton till one o'clock on Wednesday afternoon it will be impossible for Woodfull and the others to participate in the official Anzac Day ceremonies. However, the cricketers will come immediately by road to London and place a wreath on the Cenotaph.
