SCHEDULE OF DEMANDS BETTER CONDITIONS SOUGHT TOKIO, April 19 The Japanese Federation of Labour has instructed Mr. Tadao Kiktigawa, its delegate to the Labour Conference in Genoa, to advocate the adoption in Japan of a minimum wage, payable weekly, an eight-hour day and a sixday week. The federation declares that the world-wide spread of Japanese products is due to the low exchange of the yen, low wages And long hours, the hardworking spirit of tho emplyovees, advanced technique and the Government's export subsidies.

REMEDIES FOR BRITAIN LONDON. April 19 At a meeting of Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd., the chairman,- Sir Harry McGowan, summed up the remedies for Japanese trade competition as efficiency, organisation, currency stabilisation and co-operation with the Japanese producers, with whom there should be a closer discussion.
