MILLIKEN WYLLIE
A marriage of interest to Papatoetoe and Alangere districts was celebrated at St. John's Presbyterian Church, Papatoetoe, on Thursday, when Doris Bertha, daughter of Airs. R. J. and tho late Thomas Wyllie, and niece of Airs. E. Aluir, of Papatoetoe, was married to Alan John, son of Air. and the late Mrs. W. H. Alilliken, formerly of Alorrinsville. The Rev. T. H. Roseveare officiated. Several friends had decorated the church in red and white with Michaelmas daisies and salvia. The bride, who entered tho church with her uncle, Mr. John Wyllie, wore a graceful frock of ivory satin, fashioned on slender lines. Her veil of Brussels lace was held in place by tiny clusters of orange blossom, and fell away to form a long train. She carried a sheaf of tuber roses and dahlias. The bridesmaids, Aliss Ruth Wyllie and Aliss Ruth Kirkbride, were dressed alike in cream Chantillv lace, with scarlet picture hats. Each carried a sheaf of scarlet flowers. Shirley Knight, a niece of the bride, made a charming little flower girl in an ankle length cream frilled organdie frock, sprigged with scarlet forget-me-nots. She carried a inulf of scarlet flowers. Air. W. M. Alilliken was best man and Air. Alan Warren groomsman. The bride, who had been a member of the Otnhulin Golf Club, left the church under an archway of clubs. A reception was held at the Parnell Park Kiosk, Mrs. R. J. Wyllie and Airs. 10. Aluir receiving the guests. Mrs. Wyllie wore an ensemble of black georgette, relieved with beige, and hat to tone, and Mrs. Aluir navy regent satin and navy hat. Airs. H. A. Stcadman, the bridegroom's sister, wore midnight blue georgette a:id smart blue hat. Alesdamcs Wyllie, Aluir and Steadman carried bouquets ot autumn shaded flowers.
