ROWERS' BEVERAGE
UNIVERSITY OREWS SOFT DRINKS PREDOMINATE LONDON. Mnrch 21 During the past two years the Oxford aild Cambridge crews have dn«nk ns much lemonade and orangeade as beer, writes Mr. K. M. Payne, president of the Cambridge Boat Club, in a letter to Dr. Courtenay Weeks, temperance advocate. It is not true that the crew's training beverage is beer. "No member is allowed more than three glasses of beer a day, and is not encouraged to drink even that," says Mr. Payne. "I do not drink beer in training, and do not know any advantage from doing so."
