MOTORING ACCIDENTS

SEVERAL CARS OVERTURN NO SERIOUS INJURIES A number of motoring mishaps occurred at the week-end, but 110 serious accidents in the vicinity of Auckland have been reported. xV collision between two motor-cars occurred on the main road near the Albany school at about 7 o'clock last evening. The vehicles concerned were a coupe driven by Mr. William John Court, of Arawa Street, Birkenhead, and containing another passenger, and a roadster driven by Mr. Arthur Lionel Hammond, of 9 Princess Avenue, Mount Roskill. No one was injured. Mr. Hammond's car left the road and continued through a wire fence aiul into a paddock. One front tyre was ripped off and a mudguard was damaged. The front axle of the other vehicle was bent and damage was caused to the bodywork. _ As a result of an accident at Dairy Flat yesterday, a touring car containing four adults and an infant overturned, but the occupants escaped serious injury. car was driven by Mr. Henry Daniel Shick, of North Auckland, and was travelling in the direction of Auckland. The accident occurred when another ca,r, driven by Mr. Frank Alfred Payne, proceeding in the same direction was passing it. The overturned car was considerably damaged, but no one was hurt. Through swerving to avoid a collision a small car which was travelling from Devonport to Takapmia overturned and the. driver suffered a cut on the arm, but after receiving attention was able to go home. Other occupants in the vehicle escaped injury. Two motor-cars overturned yesterday near Paparoa. and Waiwern, bet tliu occupants did not suffer injury to any extent.
