THE AIR RACE

Sir, —1 am one with "Puss Moth" in your issue of March 12. 1, too, think that the people of New Zealand should raise the necessary money for a New Zealand competitor in the Victorian air race. We can regard it as au investment toward future business. Anything which points out the possibility of New Zealand as a terminus of the EnglandAntipodes air route will undoubtedly be to our profit. J am sure we could find 20,000 shilling shareholders in such a venture. There are some who would perhaps be willing to take up a good many shares at that price. If our airman does not win the race, we lose our shilling, but we have paid for'a good advertisement. If he wins, perhaps it could be arranged that the Is honds return a small profit tn the shareholders after the airman has received a stipulated amount. Bonds could be issued at post offices. This race will be a geographical and historical event that will draw the attention of the whole world to our part of the globe, and Now Zealand should be in it. M.A.P.
