PERSONAL ITEMS

Sir Carrick Robertson returned from Mar ton by the express yesterday morning. Mr. J. A. Hyndman, of Tokio, arrived by the Niagara yesterday on a business visit to New Zealand. He is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. H. Welsh, of Auckland, who has been on a business visit of three weeks to Australia, returned with, Mrs. Welch by the Niagara yesterday. Bishop Richards, who has resigned the See of Dunedin, intends to take up his permanent residence in Christchurch and will leave Dunedin to-day. Mr. TC. Neill-Ballantine, of Galloway Plains station, Queensland, is through passenger on the Niagara, which will leave for Vancouver to-day. He is on his way to England. Captain J. H. S. Macdonald, of Liverpool, Nova Scotia, arrived by th<j Niagara from Sydney yesterday on a business visit of several weeks to New Zealand. He is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. R. C. Addison, inspector for the Bank of New South Wales in New Zealand, has left for England, via Australia. He expects to be away for about seven months. This will be his first visit to England. Mr. M. Sayegh, who has acted as South Island secretary of Amalgamated Theatres, Limited, for the past 17 months, is to be transferred to Auckland after the opening of the Stato Theatre, Dunedin, 011 April 11. ■ Captain A. W. Pearse, representative of the Port of London Authority in Australia and New Zealand, who arrived at Auckland from Sydney a week ago, is now visiting Dunedin. He Mill leave on April 20 on his return to Australia.
