VICTORIAN RAILWAYS
OFFICER TO STUDY ABROAD TRANSPORT CONTROL BOARD Through passengers by the Niagara from Sydney yesterday included Mr. H. W. Clapp, chairman of the Railway Commissioners of Victoria, and Mr. R. G. Wishnrt, the commissioner's special officer. They aro on their way to the United States, England and Europe to investigate the more important developments that have taken place in all forms of transport abroad. Mr. Clapp said yesterday that railway traffic in Victoria was still much a fleeted by tho depression, but it was anticipated that the position would improve through the work of tho Transport Board which is about to bo appointed. This board will have control of all kinds of land transport, and will seek to co-ordinate it and eliminate wasteful competition.
