RELIEF CAMPS

Sir, — In reference to the remark of "Ratepayer" about cooks getting £1 17s 6d per week for cooking for six men, I don't know of any getting that amount. 1 say it is not enough. 1 am only getting £1 per week for cooking. The week is 84 hours and the men get £1 for -10 hours. 1 give them three meals a day and there is not much leftout of the £l. Stores and meat are rising, but not the wages. I don't think that men would break much rock on the road on one meal per day <jr care to come home and cook their own tucker. Dissatisfied Cook.
