CLASH IN TURKESTAN

BRITISH CASUALTIES OFFICIALS IN CONSULATE MOSCOW. March 21. Several members of the British Consulate at Kashgar, in Chinese Turkestan, were killed or wounded during a Moslem revolt against the Chinese administration. "When the rebels entered the city, after massacring 2000 natives, numerous Chinese sought refuge in the British Consulate. The leader of the revolt is the Khirig •warior, Janin Beg, who is famous for his operations against the Soviet troops in Russian Turkestan. It is rumoured that Britain intends to invite an Indian Moslem prince to rule Chinese Turkestan, in view of its strategic importance.
