NEW HERNE BAY THEATRE

JERVOIS ROAD BUILDING The erection of a new theatre on the north side of Jorvois Road, near Dedwood Terrace, Heme Bay, will be commenced shortly. The theatre, which will be of Spanish mission type, has been designed by Mr. Horace Massey, architect, and it will be under the direction of Messrs. Henry and Phil. Hayward. The building will provide accommodation for about 750 people and all the seating will be arm-chairs. It will be of the modern one-storey type, with a sloping circlo at the rear of the auditorium, which will be specially constructed for sound. The auditorium will be lined with material designed to eliminate reverberation, and the proportion of width, length and height have been scientifically calculated to achieve the best results for reproducing speech and music.
