RESTORING WAGE CUTS

POLICY OF LABOUR SEEKING NORMAL CONDITIONS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday The opinion that there was a general desire throughout the Dominion for a restoration of wage cuts was expressed by Mr. Arthur Cook, president of the New Zealand Alliance of Labour, in adidressing the annual conference of the alliauce to-day. Mr. Cook said he believed that tho restoration of wage levels was the principal means of restoring normal economic life in Now Zealand, and recommended delegates to issue an industrial bulletin to set out the policy of tho alliance and draw the attention of manufacturers and the public generally to the necessity for supporting the policy for a higher standard of living.
