RUBS NOSES AT CONCERT CONTINUATION OF TOUR [by TELEGRAPH OWN* CORRESPONDENT] ROTORUA, Thursday Mr. Bernard Shaw was present at a Maori concert last evening given by the Arawa concert party. During the interval he freely conversed and rubbed noses with some of the Maori performers. Prior to leaving to-day Mr. Shaw said that he considered the press of New Zealand was of a high standard and he was surprised at the number of provincial papers in the Dominion. Mr. and Mrs. Shaw left Rotorua this morning for Wairakei. ARRIVAL AT WAIRAKEI IMPRESSED WITH THE SIGHTS [from our own correspondent] WAIRAKEI. Friday Mr. Bernard Shaw and his wife arrived yesterday morning and during the afternoon visited the Geyser Valley. They were much impressed with the ther.nal features. Also the Aratiatia Rapids and Huka Falls were viewed in glorious sunshine, both of the visitors expressing their admiration at the colouring and the volume of the water. In the evening they were taken a trip to the Karapiti Blowhole, where the guide gave a demonstration of the tremendous force of steam escaping from this remarkable vent. Speaking to a representative of the Herald after his visit to the blowhole Mr. Shaw said that it was a good thing for New ilfincl tlicv licid such an outlet as the Karapiti Blowhole, Mrs. Slmw remarking it was a most wonderful sight. Mr. and Mrs. Shaw leave for the Chateau at Tongariro to-day.
