1 OPERATIONS AT WAiHI DRIVING ON NO. 5 LEVEL [BT TELEGBAPH —OWN CQRBJESPONEJKStI , ' WAIHI. Friday The. following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Gold Mining Company, Limited:*— No. 5 Level.—North branch of Martha lode: At 474 ft. west there is a hqrse of country rock. We have driven to the west on the north side of this and at 488 ft., measuring from the couth side of the drive, the first 2jft. is a mixture of quartz and country apsaying 9s 3d a ton. The next 2Jft. is quartz of good grade. Commencing in the crosscut at ! 470 ft. at about 13ft. from the south wall we have driven back toward northeast 9ft., at 4ft. the assay value is 13s 9d a ton and at 9ft. 6s 9d a ten* No! 6 Level .—The west prospecting crosscut has been turped due north? west at 380 ft. At 468 ft. there is quartz 3in. wide assaying J2s 9d a ton. The 'K course is ,58 degrees true. The crosseut is being continued.
