CIRCULATION IN 1933 THE DOMINION RECORD CERTIFICATE BY AUDITORS The annual certificate, by leading public accountants and auditors, of the circulation of the New Zealand Herald is published to-day. It shows that the average net paid - circulation throughout 1933 was in excess of 60,000 per day. " Net paid circulation " comprises only copies actually sold in the case of the Herald, in one edition daily. The average of over 60,000 is "exclusive of all free issues, staff copies, exchanges, unsold and returned copies. The average is. calculated over the full period of 12 months ended December •31, 1933. With a circulation in excess of 60,000 daily, the Herald maintains its ■leadership in New Zealand journalism. Saturday's issue alone exceeds 65,000 copies—this again being the net paid number. With the single exception of the Christmas number of the Auckland Weekly News, no other journal in New Zealand produces over 65,000 copies in a single issue.
