ALLEGED CODE VIOLATION CURIOUS AMERICAN CASE WASHINGTON". Jan. 1« The United States Government commenced litigation against the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey to-day, alleging violation of the N.R.A. industrial code by the giving of premiums on sales of its products. The charge refers to a radio programme conducted by " Babe " Ruth, the baseball star, who offers coupons (which can be exchanged for prizes) to children for bringing parents or guardians into the Standard Company's stations to purchase petrol and lubricants.
